New to the G-Shock world - Question about watch bands on the GA2100's

Hello everyone. I have just joined your ranks as a G-Shock owner. I was never really much of a watch guy, but recently I was made aware of G-Shocks and my new addiction started immediately. I've acquired 7 G-Shocks thus far. Some might call that excessive being that I'm new to all of this, but they just caught my eye and I bought them! My question for you all is regarding the length of the bands on the GA2100 series watches. I have 8.5" wrists, and I have to use the 2nd to the last spot on the band when I wear them. My problem is that the latch doesn't lay flat against my wrist when I have so little of the strap going past the latch. It's barely enough for the strap loop to grab anything. If I cinch the watch down tighter to the 3rd spot, there's enough going through the strap loop to hold the latch down flat, but it's way too tight on my wrist.

I have a few other models that have much longer straps, such as my GBD-100-CR, GBA-800UC-5ACR, and the GA-2000-SU-1ACR. All of these have probably an extra 1 to 1.5 inches of band length which makes it a very comfortable watch for me. I currently have 3 of the 2100 series G-Shocks and would like to know if there is any band replacements available that will add some extra length. I've read about some 2100 series adapters that allow you to mount whatever 22mm bands you want. Is there any sort of longer band available that lets me use the factory mounting locations?

Thanks for your help everyone. I'm really enjoying my G-Shocks and looking forward to reading & learning more as I explore this site further.

FYI - Here's my current G-Shock collection:

The 3 non G-Shocks (lower-right) were watches I received as gifts over the years. All of which are over 15 years old and never really wore any of them. I did put some batteries in them to get them functional, except for the Fossil which is an automatic. As I collect more, those will lose their spot in the case. I might see if any friends or family want them. They just aren't my cup of tea.

Nice collection. As I mentioned in a different recent post, I find it funny and ironic that a watch that is nearly indestructible and could be your “last watch” lends itself so easily to collecting more than someone could break in a lifetime. Funny thought, as I have four myself and the toughness is actually the specific draw for me 🙄

anyway, to your question, the best thing I can offer is shockbase.org…and specifically, I would Google G-shock band compatibility and pull up the shockbase link (bezel compatibility link is the same). This page lists which models have bands (and bezels) that are compatible with each other. Funny enough, according to the site, the two you are wearing together should be interchangeable. (My wife actually has a clear ga-2100, and I have the same GBA-800 you’re wearing.

SO…with that information, you could either test swap one (I haven’t yet, but I do believe the chart from looking at the watches)…OR…look up the GBA-800 versions on Pac Parts and order a stock band in the color you like…for your 2100s. Pac Parts seems to actually be Casio’s official part store, and they seem to have almost everything.

***Note….I will say, even with proper tools the GBA-800 band is hard to put back onto that watch…at least for me. Clearances are super tight, and it’s actually required for changing the battery. I did it on my blue GBA-800. When I replace battery on my other one, I actually plan to get one of those newfangled quick release pin jobs on the 2022 GA-2100s….because they do fit my 7 1/4 inch wrist.

***Note 2…. I would love to hear what you settled on and learn about my suggestion….
