This just arrived yesterday. I've never had a PRW-3000, but this watch is basically the same. The differences have been discussed I'm sure, but basically the 3100 gets the stainless bezel and the STN display.

The display is quite nice. As far as I can rotate the watch away from me I can still read it. Tilting it to the side, it's still legible. Overall, the display seems very crisp.

I tend toward mechanicals, mostly, but I've been searching for a nice looking digital for quite some time now; I think this will satisfy that role for a while.

Nice looking watch. As this is the first STN module we've seen here, do you mind posting some more pictures at extreme angles? It would definitely be appreciated.

more than the angles of view I am interested in STN LCD,s negative display version readability in various light conditions.the question is that whether the STN display only increases the angle of readability or it enhances (specially negative display)eaability in variouslght condition as well?
this question needs answering.

I would love for one in Titanium bezel and housing...

i checked out this 3100T a couple days ago.
while i admire the concept of having a stainless steel bezel, i just found it looked too shiny for my tastes, plus the bezel with its rounded donut edges just dont do it for me.
and the bracelet is also more shiny than the 3000T?
i think i'll hang on to my 3000T abit longer :p

I was deciding between the 3000 & 3100T last weekend, finally bought the 3100T.

To me, the 3100T had the better display & i also love the stainless steelish look, whereas the 3000T sport the titaniumish look.

For those who prefer the grayish titanium look, the 3000T is definitely the preferred choice & i will buy it too if i got the budget for both.

What i really like about this watch is the stainless bezel instead of alumunium as the 3000t. Oh God, 2 days after i used 3000t, there are some paint peeling off or scratching off.

I would upgrade if somebody post a review about how durable it is against scratches after using it some time. Because i use my watch 24/7 except taking shower. I don't really abuse my watch, because i'm the indoor type.

Another complaint is when I used W-S220HD, the alarm is loud enough to wake me up, but not the 3000T. Does 3100T have a louder alarm?

I've been impressed with the durability of the bezel on this one. Not a mark anywhere on it so far, and I've worn it nearly every day since getting it. The titanium on the bracelet (if you choose to go that route) scratches much easier than stainless, but overall not bad, really. I have a Seiko Sumo and an Omega that stay on bracelets for the most part, and they feel like they have the weight of a Mack truck my comparison; it's easy to forget you're wearing it.

Keep in mind the features of the 3100 are the same as the 3000 save the bezel and the STN display, which is incredibly readable from nearly any angle.

The alarm is decent, but it's nothing at all like an Ironman. It's adequate, but I always set a backup just in case regardless of what watch I'd use at night.
